One of the major highlights of SXSW is the film portion of the week and there are a number of LGBTQ films set to premiere this year. Among the films being featured are two from indie film production company A24.

The first film is called I Saw the TV Glow and it features Justice Smith, Brigette Lundy-Paine, and Ian Foreman.

SYNOPSIS: Teenager Owen is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack. Directed by Jane Schoenbrun.

The second LGBTQ film A24 is bringing to the table is Sing Sing featuring Colman Domingo.

SYNOPSIS: Divine G (Colman Domingo), imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other incarcerated men, including wary newcomer (Clarence Maclin), in this stirring true story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art, starring an unforgettable ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors. Directed by Greg Kwedar.

We’re thrilled to see all of the queer films featured at SXSW this year. Congratulations to everyone creating queer stories and two thumbs up to amplifying queer voices!
