New San Diego Based Non Profit Creates Space for Queer Women and Allies

The queer community in San Diego is thriving and among the LGBTQ groups on the scene enters a new organization centered around strengthening bonds between queer people. On May 11th, Velvet Pearl hosted their first event at J & Tony’s hosted by Karma Zabetch, and it was absolutely amazing! DJ inn & Tonic was on the turntables and there were performances by nationally recognized burlesque dancer Nina bel Vande, and Drag Mother of the Haus of Jones, Vanity Jones.
MISSION STATEMENT :
VELVET PEARL™ is a nonprofit organization* dedicated to reigniting and strengthening the loving bonds within the LGBTQIA+ community alongside our cherished allies. Our mission comes to life through upscale pop-up events and spaces designed for deep connection, serving as inclusive sanctuaries. We envision a future where everyone is celebrated for who they are, in environments where they feel unequivocally safe, valued, and cherished. *501(c)(3) Status: Pending.

In these curated spaces, we pledge to embrace and honor the diversity of our community, welcoming individuals from every ethnicity, orientation, gender expression, generation, and walk of life, with a particular focus on ensuring accessibility for our guests with disabilities.
Every contribution and donation to VELVET PEARL™ is a seed of change that fuels our mission, fully reinvested back into our community and turning every dollar into impactful initiatives. The continuous flow of funding—money received and then reinvested back into the community—exemplifies our commitment to the core values of our nonprofit. As we focus on strengthening the loving bonds within the LGBTQIA+ community, we are laying the foundation for a future built on respect, love, and solidarity— the very pillars of an inclusive world.
Through every event and every interaction, VELVET PEARL™ shines as a beacon of hope and love, illustrating the power of unity in diversity. Together, we will enact transformative change and establish a legacy for generations to come.
