Congratulations to everyone who was a part of the Hillcrest Honorees recognized for their efforts in the queer community here in San Diego earlier this month! Founded by Rick Cervantes and co-founded by Benny Cartwright, the Hillcrest Honors event took place among a huge crowd of attendees at Uptown Tavern where award recipients were met with champagne and the red carpet treatment before hitting the step and repeat with friends and loved ones.

The who’s who of queer tastemakers and community leaders came out to celebrate the Hillcrest Honors event. Dozens of awards ranging from Fabulous Restaurant to the Lifetime Achievement Award were given out in between performances and announcements by notable hosts.

What makes this particular event so special is that it celebrates ALL of the people who play a part in making Hillcrest a fabulous place to thrive. That includes everyone from your favorite bartenders and security staff to your local politicians who help make sure the queer community remains a safe haven for residents of San Diego. Hillcrest Honors really puts the UNITY in community.
